Denim Repair
Today we would like to introduce the denim repair work we did the other day.
Two pairs of jeans received from the same customer. Both are 1606W , but the one on the right is the 15th anniversary model, which has the fastest color fading as far as I know. The customer wears these for work all the time, and the pale indigo color of the jeans, which has been washed many times, and the pair on the right is eye-catching.
We check to see if there are any other areas that need repair other than the area requested for repair. Dirt Denim is difficult to repair until it starts to fade, in my opinion. You have to be patient until the fraying comes off naturally and the color starts to fade. From that point on, it seems like the color fades without you even noticing. Here, the whiskers and puckering are clearly visible, and the color fades ideally, just like the 1606 sample. The areas that were previously repaired seem to still be fine.
The split seam on the outseam is commonly known as a caterpillar. The edges of the selvedge are clearly visible.
The hemming part with the Union Special has become twisted diagonally and wavy after repeated washing. The creases and fading are also very pleasing. I've gone off topic a bit, but that's the part I repaired this time.

There is no tear in the right knee area, but the fabric around the hole is thin and will need to be reinforced.
After

Part of the W/Knee is peeled off, adhesive interlining is applied to a wide area, and the repair is then done by tapping.

Maybe it got caught on something? There is a vertical tear at the edge of the W/Knee.
After

Here too, the W/Knee was partially peeled off, and adhesive interlining was applied to the damaged area, then repaired by hammering.
The second pair is the 1606 W/ Knee Standard Dirt Denim.

Like the 15th anniversary model, part of the W/Knee area was removed and a large piece of interlining was attached and then tatami was applied.
