This 1940s USN deck vest is based on the commercial version manufactured and sold to civilians.
The outer shell is made of an original dyed slate gray and a vintage-like khaki with a reddish tint.
This weapon material uses double threads both vertically and horizontally, just like the 40 Civilian Trousers , a standard item.
It was adopted as the uniform for the United States Army's West Point Military Academy, and is woven to that standard on an old-fashioned shuttle loom.
It is characterized by its unique strength and luster, which is achieved by using double yarn.
The lining is entirely made of baby alpaca.
Baby alpaca has much finer and more delicate fibers than regular alpaca, and is characterized by its moist feel.
There is little fiber irritation, so you won't feel any discomfort like a tingling sensation.
It also has excellent heat retention, making it a useful piece for the winter season.
The armholes are deep to prevent interference with the sleeves of your outerwear.
It can also be easily layered with heavyweight sweatshirts and hoodies.
The washed finish gives it a vintage look with puckering in various places, and the soft feel makes it a useful inner vest.
This is also a perfect piece to wear under a leather jacket.
