This sesame salt pattern beach cloth, popular among workers in harsh natural environments, was knitted on a rare Russell machine in Oshu, a wool producing region.
The surface is made of a fabric commonly known as "sesame salt", which is made by twisting together two different coloured yarns of different counts, recreating the atmosphere of the time and giving it a deep look.
The two-layer structure of Russell knit and wool fleece on the back keeps out the cold and moisture, and fits the body like a sweater. The fleece on the back, which makes up 70% of the total, is highly brushed, which gives it more heat retention than a sweatshirt and more durability than a knit.
We took inspiration from materials developed 100 years ago, a time of great ingenuity, and created a unique, heavier-weight product.
Low-positioned chest pocket and Double welt pockets at the waist.
The original snap buttons are dull plated, and the copper color of the base becomes more apparent with use.
The design follows a vintage style, with cotton herringbone tape finishes in various places.
Although it has a simple design, the texture of the fabric makes it a unique item that stands out from the rest.
The original brown color goes well with dirt denim and horsehide, making this a long-awaited re-release.
