A prisoner cap with a good fit made from sulfur-dyed herringbone fabric with varying intensities.
It features a beautifully rounded six-panel crown.
The soft brim makes it easy to carry and can be folded up and tucked into a hip pocket or bag.
The stitching on the brim is a special design unique to the prisoner cap, taking advantage of the irregular setting of the brim being removed from the USA ARMY M-37 denim hat used by the US military in the 1930s and 1940s and remade into work wear for prisoners of war .
The part where the crown and brim are sewn together is reinforced with the same fabric, a remnant of the M-37 remake. This detail is one of my personal favorites, as it adds a three-dimensional look when the marks appear.
The reverse side is treated with herringbone tape.
It has been washed to create puckering in various places for a vintage look.
This set, along with the Baker HBT Pants made from the same material, will likely become a heavy rotation set for me this season.

Herringbone was used as a military material by the US military in the 1940s. In addition to its distinctive appearance, it is strong and durable. This time, instead of the familiar military olive, I chose a deep navy for both the pants and the cap, and put together a blue look.
It's been sulfur dyed and one-washed, so it doesn't have that brand new look that is common, and it goes great with a well-worn chambray shirt and denim. This season , it's also great to wear it with the OD Reverse Weave Sweatshirt.
