This is a " Freedom Sleeve Sweatshirt " featuring a Block Logo drawn by Nuts Art Works on the front.
This season, we are producing 14.5oz heavy weight fleece on an old-fashioned hanging knitting machine that can only be made in Wakayama, where the fabric is produced.
Hanging loop knitting has very low production efficiency, and there are fewer and fewer machines remaining.
Since the yarn can be knitted at low tension without changing its shape, the finished product has a fluffy and soft texture.
The freedom sleeves, which are set in an S-shape from the shoulder to the armpit, are a functional detail designed to ensure freedom of movement.
There are no underarm seams, allowing for greater freedom of movement.
However, because it is difficult to sew and unsuitable for mass production, it is a vintage detail that has disappeared over time.
The sides are also rounded with no seams or stitching.
The neck is finished with a sturdy binder and has a double V-neck design that makes it difficult to lose its shape and easy to wear.
Recessed gussets at front and back provide elastic reinforcement at the neckline and help keep sweat out.
The sewing is done with a three-needle front stitch.
The "Block Logo" on the front is expressed in crack flocked print.
As you wear and wash it, the print will crack and you can enjoy the changes that occur over time.
The backing thread is made from rare brown cotton, a long-staple cotton from Zimbabwe.
It is soft to the touch and fluffy, and has excellent heat retention.
Another key point is that it is finished in the same process as vintage sweatshirts, using one of the few brushing machines that can process the garment while still keeping it round.
